Irish Water says there's no date yet for the ending of the boil water notice for households and businesses connected to the Lanesboro Public Water Supply Scheme.
The notice was first issued on the 2nd of this month due to a mechanical issue with the treatment and disinfection process at the treatment plant in Lanesboro.
Almost 5,000 customers are affected by the notice which advises people to boil the water before using it for drinking, brushing teeth or food preparation.
Irish Water says the mechanical issue has been fixed but but test results on number of samples will be needed before the water can be declared fit for use again.
The water agency says it's presently waiting for the results and an update will be issued as soon as there are available.
