No additional students at a Leitrim secondary school have tested positive for Covid since last week.
The principal of Drumshanbo Vocational School has confirmed that third and sixth year students will remain out of school until the HSE deems it safe for them to return.
In the latest update for parents, Martin Fallon has outlined that the six positive cases among students revealed last week are confined to Junior and Leaving Cert students and all pupils who provide a second negative Covid test will return to the classrooms in the coming days.
Teachers are continuing to provide a mix of online and in-class teaching and the principal says he and staff are very appreciative of the patience, understanding and co-operation at "this difficult time" and that everyone looks forward "to a return to normality soon".
Over 400 people were tested at a pop up Covid site in the town last weekend in response to fears of a Covid cluster with a positivity rate of just 1% reported.
