A Midlands based Health expert says there's no one reason for Longford having the top Covid-19 14-day incidence rate in the country. Longford's rate is currently double the national average, despite no new cases of Covid-19 announced locally yesterday.
Dr Ger Maher, Senior Medical Officer for Public Health in the Midlands HSE says outbreaks can be found across the spectrum in Longford. According to Dr Maher, the HSE has recorded cases in workplaces, shops, and homes with no one cause leading to the major jump in the county's 14 day incidence rate of infections over the previous number of weeks.
