The former Minister for Health says it would be clinically inappropriate for the National Maternity Hospital to be built anywhere but on the proposed St. Vincent's Campus.
Discussions on the location of the Hospital have been questioning why the facility can't be built on a Greenfield site elsewhere.
However, Minister Simon Harris says expert groups which formed the national maternity strategy believe no other location outside of the proposed site would be suitable for the facility.
Speaking to Shannonside FM, the Fine Gael representative insists it recommended that the hospital be co-located that there are an abundance of facilities close by.
