There will no increase in the property tax rate in Roscommon next year.
Over 97% of properties eligible to pay the LPT in 2022 will spend just €90 euro.
Last year Roscommon Councillors agreed a 15% rise in property tax rates in the county, in a bid to maintain funding for vital services in the face of the pandemic.
At the July meeting of the County Council on Monday, head of Finance Martin Lydon outlined that the local authority hopes its finances will balance later this year .
However, he did warn that due to issues around rates and the ongoing waiver system, external financial help from government will be required.
The LPT is used to fund services in municipal districts such as street cleaning, local road improvements and upkeep of parks, with the LPT worth an estimated 10.8 million to Roscommon in recent years- with seven million euro provided as part of the government's equalisation fund.
New LPT bands are also set to come into force next year, which will see 97% of homes in Roscommon pay just 90 euro in the first band which values homes between one euro to €200,000.
Reform of the LPT will see any monies raised locally retained in the county - with the government likely to make up any funding shortfall.
