The number of referrals to Tusla in respect of child welfare in Roscommon during the lock down period has remained in line with non Covid 19 trends.
Each month social workers would receive between 70 to 90 referral from members of the community raising concerns about a child or family welfare situation.
There was concern that in the absence of schools or early years settings that the level of referrals would decrease but is has remained constant through the last number of months.
Georgina Kilcoyne, the Lead with the Family Support Services says social workers have been working consistently during the pandemic.
