A Longford GAA club have submitted a planning application for the construction of an indoor swimming pool at their ground in the north of the county.
The application has been lodged by Fr Manning Gaels GAA Club who're based at Monaduff Park outside of the Village of Drumlish in Longford. The club are seeking the permission for the multi-purpose building to house the pool, changing rooms, treatment room and a general purpose room at their ground in Drumlish. The development would see a full size pool, sauna, steam room and ice bath facilities, along with an extension to the existing clubhouse.
Included in the plans for Monaduff Park are the construction of an astro turf pitch, hand ball alley, new lighting fixtures and perimeter fencing. The Club executive are also seeking to construct a car park area to serve the new development, accessed from the existing car park. The application also features the provision of a pedestrian walkway around the club linking to the existing path connecting to Drumlish village. County Longford planners will decide on the application in July.
