The organisers of a programme in the North West which helps to support families impacted by parental alcohol misuse say they hope it can be rolled out nationwide eventually.
The programme has been underway in Leitrim, Sligo, West Cavan and Donegal for the past couple of years.
It has recently been recognised by the UK based "Investing in Children" initiative".
The M-PACT "Moving Parents and Children Together" programme focuses on children affected by their parents substance misuse.
It also helps to make positive changes for all family members through improving relationships and devising coping strategies.
Philip Maree says he hopes the scheme can be rolled out to other areas eventually.
