The National Parks & Wildlife Service is appealing for information in relation to the shooting of a rare white tailed eagle in County Roscommon last week. A number of the birds were introduced by the NPWS from Norway in 2022.
Gardaí and the NPWS are currently investigating the incident. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, NPWS District Conservation officer Therese Kelly said the eagle would often travel along the River Shannon:
