There has been an increase in the number of planning permissions granted in the Shannonside region so far this year.
A recent CSO quarterly report shows that the number of granted dwelling projects have doubled since 2022.
Friday's CSO report outlined the number of apartment and housing unit planning permissions granted in the country per county this year.
Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon hold some of the country's lowest figures.
In Longford, 11 apartment units and 120 houses were granted planning permissions.
47 houses were built in Roscommon and 28 in Leitrim, while no apartments were built in either of the two counties so far this year.
In total, 389 residential planning permissions were granted in the region, while only 112 were recorded in the CSO's first two quarterly reports in 2022.
This accounts for a 51% increase of approved housing projects compared with last year.
However, the region's dwelling projects make up only 2 percent of the nation's total figure of 20,382 planning permissions granted as of this quarter.
