A number of changes to local Dáil constituencies have been recommended this morning.
The latest report from the electoral commission recommends the transfer of 32 Electoral divisions from the Roscommon-Galway constituency to Galway East.
This would make Galway East a 4 seat constituency, a change from the current 3.
Areas recommended for transfer include Mountbellew, Clontuskert, and Kiltullagh
Also included in the recommendations is the transfer of 19 Electoral Divisions from Meath West to the Longford-Westmeath area, changing it from 4 seats to 5 seats.
Sligo-Leitrim is to remain a 4 seat constituency while the 18 Electoral Divisions of North Roscommon will be transferred to the Roscommon-Galway division., keeping it at 3 seats
Among the areas recommended to be transferred from Sligo-Leitrim to Roscommon-Galway include Boyle, Arigna, and Keadue.
The report recommends a total of 174 TDs for the next election, an increase of 14 on the current structure.
