A number of animal welfare charities across the Shannonside region are set to benefit from new funding announced by the Department of Agriculture. In Longford, services such as Hungry Horse Animal Rescue, the National ISPCA centre in Keenagh and Longford SPCA will benefit from the funding. Whilst in Roscommon, Animal Haven Ireland, Fairyglen Animal Sanctuary, Roscommon SPCA and TNR South Roscommon will receive funding from the Department.
Meanwhile the Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre is also amongst the 101 charities nationally that will receive funding. Speaking to Let's Talk earlier today, Longford-Westmeath TD Joe Flaherty said all these organisations play a key role in the welfare of animals in rural communities:
