Just over 200 ESB customers across the Shannonside region are without power this afternoon.
121 homes in Carrick-on-Shannon are experiencing a blackout, while another 82 in Athlone are without power.
The ESB says it is working to restore electricity supplies to the affected areas and urges the public to never approach or touch fallen or damaged electricity wires.
A Status Yellow rain warning has so far been issued for counties Cork and Kerry and will be in place until 6am tomorrow.
