A planning objection has been lodged with an Bord Pleanala regarding the change of use of an apartment block in Ballinamore to accommodate asylum seekers.
The Planning board has received a section five referral regarding "whether work for the completion of apartments to be used for the care of protected persons and all related services/facilities is or is not development or is or is not exempted development."
Inspectors are due to rule on the objection by the 12th of August next.
In January inspectors from the planning board ruled that that the accommodation of refugees at the former 'Rock Quarter' apartment block in Ballinamore did not require any additional planning permission.
