The first library built in County Longford in almost 50 years will open its doors to the public next Monday.
A planned official launch of the new Edgeworthstown library this Friday has been postponed due to Covid precautions.
Nevertheless, people in the community will get a chance to use the state of the art facilities
in the multi million euro building from early next week.
Construction on the project, which is located on a site associated with the Edgeworth family, began in 2019 but was delayed due to the pandemic.
Developing a library for the town had been a long term project for the County Council as well as the local community development association
Some lucky locals also got a sneak peek at the facility last night ahead of its official opening and Longford County Librarian Mary Carlton Reynolds says it will be a wonderful addition to the town.
