Rising energy prices and fears of blackouts this winter will be discussed at the Oireachtas Joint Environment Committee today.
Environment Minister Eamon Ryan, Eirgrid, and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities will be questioned by TDs and Senators about growing concerns over electricity supply in Ireland.
It follows amber alerts, warning of a shortage of energy generation in recent months, and concerns over future gas supplies in Europe.
