Older people in the Shannonside region say they would be happy to receive the Astra Zeneca vaccine if it was approved.
Despite the approval of the vaccine from the WHO this week for all adults, the government here have stated they will not change their plans to
withhold it from the over 65s.
There were concerns about the effectiveness of the vaccine for older populations given the low number of over 65s tested in trials.
However, many GPs say the government should rethink its strategy, given that it does not require the same level of caution in storage.
