A local councillor has set up an online petition to reverse the decision to close Roscommon Towns Post Office. Independent Cllr Nigel Dineen started the petition, which has already seen over 350 signatures in less than 24 hours.
An Post recently announced plans that the service will be run by a contractor and most likely move from its current location on the Square. It was confirmed last week at a special council meeting that local representatives are in the process of organising a meeting with Minister of State Jack Chambers to discuss the current situation.
