The new mart manager at Elphin in north Roscommon says farmers have been cautious in returning to the ringside over the past week.
Covid restrictions on attendance at marts around the country were lifted just a week ago, and it's been a welcome relief for some who are not familiar with online technology.
Kevin Caslin who's taken up his new job in recent weeks says while he's looking forward to things returning to more normal practices, there will also be a role for online buying and selling in tandem with the ringside business.

He says farmers have been taking a cautious approach to mixing back into the ringside activity but it should become busier as restrictions continue to ease in the weeks ahead:
