The opening of a new McDonalds in Carrick on Shannon has been delayed.
The restaurant was originally due to open today however the date has now been pushed back to next week.
The fast food giant was granted planning permission by Leitrim County Council for the new restaurant at the Rosebank Retail Park on the Dublin Road last year.
An appeal was lodged by EMAC Catering Ltd, calling on the planning body to overturn the councils decision.
The group raised concerns over traffic issues, the proximity of a local secondary school and the presence of an existing fast food drive thru in the same retail park.
Despite submissions, An Bórd Pleanála overturned the appeal and granted permission for construction to proceed.
The new restaurant at the Attifinlay Roundabout on the Dublin Road will see at least 90 jobs created when it opens.
