The OPW is hoping to progress the sale of a Roscommon garda station in the next 18 months.
It was initially expected that Ballyforan garda station would be sold at a public auction in September of last year following its closure in 2013.
The decision to sell off the former south Roscommon station has been taken as no alternative use has been found for the well-known property.
Earlier this month TD Denis Naughten asked the Minister for the OPW on for an update on the status of the building and its potential sale.
Patrick O Donovan confirmed that the OPW has sought alternative State use for the property but to date no State requirement has been identified and it is currently being prepared for public auction in 2022 or 2023.
