The OPW Minster insists his department is fully committed to finding a solution for the people of Lough Funshinagh.
Patrick O'Donovan says he's looking at everything which may help Roscommon County Council advance a planning application to alleviate flooding at the turlough.
The Fine Gael representative met with residents at the Department and made a commitment he would come back to them in the final quarter of the year.
Speaking to Shannonside FM today Minister O'Donovan says he still intends to do this.
He confirmed the Office of Public Works is committed to funding any successful planning application made by the local authority
"Everybody knows there are victims out there for whom a solution has to be found. So the OPW are looking at everything that was ever put in paper on in regard to Funshinagh. Once we can get a situation where Roscommon county council are in a position to lodge a new planning application and which will get planning permission from An Bord Pleanála or from a different fruit, we'll give the same commitment we did the last time which is that we'll fund it.
