The OPW Minister is visiting Roscommon today to provide an update on flood-relief works planned for Lough Funshinagh. Kieran O'Donnell is meeting residents, councillors, TD's and Senators in Roscommon County Council's offices this afternoon. The waters levels around the turlough in Rahara remain high and there are fears of homes being flooded this winter.
A planning application for interim works is due to be submitted next month. Fine Gael senator Aisling Dolan, from Ballinasloe, says she is hopeful a solution will be found shortly:
