Aoife O’Rourke has lost out in her semi-final contest at the Strandja Multi-nations event in Sofia, Bulgaria.
American Naomi Graham scored a convincing unanimous decision victory with only one judge not giving a round to the American.
O’Rourke found the quick moving powerful American a tough target throughout the first round with the French judge giving O’Rourke the nods on points for round one, but the four other judges scoring it for the American.
Graham was much more in control in the second round winning the scorecard 50-43.
While O’Rourke came out of the corner and landed an impressive left early on, Graham always had an extra shot and was scored victory on all the judges score cards.
Graham progresses to the final on a unanimous 46-49, 43-50, 45-50 scorecard. O’Rourke will take the bronze medal home from Sofia.
