Over 100 confirmed cases of Omicron Covid variant in this region since late December

An analysis of samples of Covid-19 swabs from PCR testing has discovered 100 cases of confirmed Omicron in the Shannonside region since the start of the year.

Nine thousand three hundred and seventy COVID-19 cases have been confirmed as infected with the extra transmissible variant to date in Ireland since the end of December up to the first week of March.

44 confirmed Omicron cases were reported in Roscommon, and 28 each in Leitrim and Longford.
