More than 230 additional places on Community Employment and Tús schemes have been announced across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
It's part of the government's plan to tackle unemployment and will see every county nationwide benefit from additional Community Employment places.
Community Employment and Tús schemes are employment support measures for long-term unemployed people and those in receipt of long-term payments.
In the Shannonside region, Leitrim benefits from an additional 26 places, Longford gains 25 places, while Roscommon gains an extra six places.
Meanwhile, additional places on the Tús scheme will be allocated to every county that applied.
Leitrim didn't apply for the scheme, but Longford will gain an extra 56 places while Roscommon will benefit from an additional 30 places.
Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys says Community Employment and Tús schemes are central to the Government's new employment services strategy.
