Over 100 children who access mental health services in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have been waiting over a year for an appointment.
The Child and Adolescents Mental Health Service provides assessment and treatment for those under the age of 18 with moderate to severe mental health problems.
New figures, released to Deputy Mairead Farrell reveal 519 children nationally have been on a waiting list for more than 52 weeks.
CHO area one which includes Longford and Westmeath recorded 77 young people waiting over one year.
Across Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Sligo, in CHO area one, 20 children have been on a list for over 12 months.
In August of 2021, one child was waiting over a year for a CAMHS appointment in the Roscommon-Galway and Mayo area however this has now risen to 13.
