Over 100 people waiting on hospital beds locally this morning

Over 100 people are currently waiting for beds across at Hospitals across the Shannonside region.

Today's figures from the Irish nurses and midwives organisation show 420 patients on trolleys or waiting for beds elsewhere in hospitals nationwide.

Galway University Hospital is the second busiest in the country today, with 52 people on trolleys or waiting for a hospital bed.

25 patients are currently waiting in Sligo University Hopsital as of this morning, up from last week's figures.

Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe is reporting a busy ED this morning with 10 people on trolleys.

Meanwhile, Midlands Regional Hospitals in Mullingar and Tullamore are dealing with 14 and 1 patient without a hospital bed respectively.
