Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is hoping the west Roscommon faults will be fixed in the next couple of days. 

Over 1,000 homes and businesses in the Shannonside region remain without power today - almost 16 days after Storm Eowyn.

They include just under 400 in Co Roscommon, with 25 in Fairymount, 21 in Ballinlough, 156 in Frenchpark, 175 in rural north Roscommon (such as Crossna, Keadue and Arigna) and 19 in Kilglass, near Rooksey.

There are over 500 still without power in Co Leitrim, including 17 in Aughnasheelin, 24 in Aghacashel, 116 in Ballinamore, 221 in Carrigallen, 36 in Mohill, 16 in Keshcarrigan, 11 in Drumsna, 13 in Annaduff and 53 in Drumshanbo.

The only fault in Co Longford at the moment is one affecting 177 properties in Lanesboro.
