Over 12,000 patients across the Shannonside Northern Sound region were admitted to hospital without a bed in 2024.
The figures come from an annual report compiled by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation's TrolleyWatch.
The data provides a breakdown of the total amount of patients waiting on trolleys and in wards in hospitals across the country.
Sligo University Hospital held the highest figure in the region, at 7,618 patients waiting on a bed in 2024.
The figure is followed by Cavan General Hospital, where a total of 1,842 people on trolleys this year, coming at a 12% increase when compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,064 patients were on trolleys at Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, a significant drop of 55% since last year.
Portiuncula Hospital saw a 32% decrease in 2024, at 588 patients on trolleys.
Both hospitals in Monaghan and Roscommon had no patients waiting on a bed.
Nationally, 122,166 patients including 2,043 children were admitted to hospital without a bed.
