Just over sixty new homes had their construction completed in the Shannonside region in the second quarter of this year.
New data from the CSO shows just 13 homes were completed in County Leitrim between April and July.
The primary data source used for the New Dwellings Completions series is the ESB Networks new domestic connections dataset, where the date that the connection is energized determines the date of completion
According to figures from the CSO obtained through local authorities 26 new homes were completed in Roscommon, 27 in Longford and just thirteen in Leitrim quarter two of this year.
The figure is well down on completion in the opening months of the year when a total of 82 homes were finished - including 11 in Leitrim, 26 in Longford and 45 in Roscommon.
Despite the pandemic in 2021, the figures for this year are well back on completions for the first six months of 2021 when 208 homes were completed between January and June.
The slowdown in construction is likely to be attributed to rising costs as well as the pandemic but are still only slightly lower than figures for the first six months for 2019 before Covid when 150 homes were completed across the Shannonside region.]
