Close to 160 people attended the pop-up Covid-19 testing centre in Mullingar during its first day in operation yesterday.
159 people attended the facility at St. Loman's Health Campus yesterday while a further 53 people used the drive-through testing service.
People who are asymptomatic, over the age of 16 and live within close proximity to St Loman's Health Campus are eligible to take a covid test at the centre. The centre is to remain open until next Tuesday from 9am until 5pm each day.
The free test is designed to identify asymptomatic cases of the virus so health experts can better examine the spread of covid-19 in the community.
