There are over 1,600 outstanding bench warrants in the Shannonside region, according to An Garda Síochána.
Bench warrants are issued by a judge, authorising the Gardaí to arrest a person and bring them before the courts.
They are normally issued after a person fails to appear in court accused of a crime.
The figures were released in response to a parliamentary question by Sinn Féin TD Sorca Clarke.
As of February 14th, there were one thousand six hundred and fifty-seven outstanding bench warrants in the Shannonside region.
The figures came to light following a parliamentary question from Longford Westmeath TD Sorca Clarke.
In response, the Minister for Justice said the number included some old bench warrants as well as 'live' bench warrants.
There are currently one thousand and twelve outstanding bench warrants in the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford division and six hundred and forty-five in Sligo/Leitrim.
Meanwhile, there are a futher one thousand seven hundred and thirteen in Meath/Westmeath which includes the Athlone area.
The figures were collated based on PULSE data as of the 11th of February.
