Over 200 motorists were convicted last year in courts across the Shannonside region for driving without a licence.
Details released by the Minister for Justice reveal the highest number of fines were issued at Longford District Court.
A total of 701 summonses were issued last year by Gardai for drivers who failed to produce a licence when required after being stopped by Gardai.
However just 200 people were subsequently fined for the offence.
The highest number of convictions were recorded in Longford District Court, with 49 drivers appearing in court and 39 fines being issued.
30 fines were imposed on drivers at Athlone District Court and 32 by a District Court judge in Ballinasloe.
Just 22 drivers were convicted at Roscommon District court last year and 20 fines imposed.
Eight fines were imposed on drivers in Carrick-on-Shannon last year for the offence, with 10 fines handed down to drivers convicted at Castlerea courthouse.
Seven fines were also issued at Strokestown District Court for the offence.
Between January and March of this year, 43 convictions have been recorded across the region - including 12 in Longford resulting in 10 fines
