Over 20,000 remain without power across the region this lunchtime

The ESB says it's likely some people will remain without electricity until next week:

Over 20,000 homes and businesses across the Shannonside region are without power this afternoon. The ESB says it's likely some people will remain without electricity until next week. There are close to 9,000 people across Co. Roscommon without power this lunchtime. Some of the worst affected areas include Castlerea where there are over 1,000 without power, Ballaghaderreen and Frenchpark with close to 800 and Ballinlough with over 400. North Roscommon has also been badly impacted however over 700 homes and businesses were reconnected in Boyle earlier today.

In Co. Longford, around 6,500 remain without power this afternoon. There are over 1,000 without electricity in Ballinalee and surrounding areas, 800 in the Longford Town region and 700 in Ardagh. The Lanesborough/Ballyleague area has also been badly affected, however the ESB did restore power to over 1,000 properties this morning.

Finally in South Leitrim, over 6,500 are still affected by power outages today. Some of the worst affected area's include the Drumshanbo area with 1,000 properties, Mohill with 600 and Carrigallen with 600 also. There has also been a number of water supply issues across the region with customers close to the Mayo/Roscommon border impacted this lunchtime.
