New figures from the CSO show the number of tests cancelled due to no shows, improper documentation or tester illness.

Close to 350 driving tests in the Shannonside region were abandoned in the first eight months of 2024.

The average waiting time for a driving test in Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon currently stands at 20 weeks from booking to testing date.

CSO figures have shown 346 tests did not go ahead in the Shannonside Region between January and August this year.
Of these, 133 were cancelled due to a no show by the applicant, while 213 were abandoned for a number of reasons such as issues with the testing vehicle, tester availability and short term cancellation.
Roscommon had the highest level of no shows in the region so far this year at 48, with Longford and Leitrim close behind at 45 and 40 respectively.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show Leitrim has the highest pass rate locally at 70 percent, while Longford and Roscommon both saw one in two applicants fail their tests.
