At least 3,000 pupils across the Shannonside region will start their junior or leaving cert exams this morning. They are among over 136,000 students around the country who will sit their state examinations this month.
The president of the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland, Geraldine O'Brien, is urging students to keep a simple and balanced routine over the coming weeks. Former teacher in Carrick-on-Shannon Community School, Joe Bambricke, has also issued this advice:
