Over 60 people across the Shannonside region were accessing emergency accommodation in the month of November. That's according to the latest report from the Department of Housing. The monthly report provided a breakdown of people registered as homeless per county. In the Shannonside region, Co. Westmeath held the highest figure at 78.
The number is followed by counties Longford and Roscommon, where 17 people respectively were availing of emergency accommodation. Co. Leitrim had the lowest figure in the region for the month of November, at 15. Nationally, 15,199 registered as homeless that month of which 4,658 were children. Dublin remains the area with the highest figure of people sleeping rough, at a total of 7,450.
