Over 6,000 homes, farms and businesses in the Shannonside region remain without power this lunchtime. Meanwhile, The Cabinet has been discussing how to better prepare Ireland for future bad weather, following the fallout from Storm Eowyn. Roscommon and Leitrim remain two of the most affected counties in the country with power outages also still being reported in Longford. Around 3,000 customers are without power this afternoon in Co. Roscommon.
Some of the worst affected areas are in West Roscommon in the likes of Castlerea, Frenchpark, Ballaghaderreen and Ballinlough. North Roscommon also remains impacted this lunchtime with locations on the outskirts of Boyle Town still without power whilst parts of Arigna are also affected. Around 2,750 homes and businesses in Co. Leitrim also remain without power today. Ballinamore, Mohill, Carrigallen and Corrawallen are some of the worst affected areas today.
The situation continues to improve in Co. Longford however there are still around 750 ESB customers who are without power this afternoon. Ballinalee, Legan and parts of Mullinalaghta are some of the places in the county that remain impacted following the storm.
