Over 80 dog attacks have been recorded in Leitrim over the last five years.
New figures show that since 2016, 20 people have been attacked by dogs in County Leitrim.
A further 31 incidents of dogs attacking other dogs and 33 cases of livestock attacks were reported to the local authority in the same period.
Breeds involved in attacks in Leitrim included Collies, Dobermans, German Shepard's, Japanese Akita and terriers.
According to the Irish Independent, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in Dublin recorded 273 attacks between 2016 and 202, the highest nationwide.
There are 11 breeds of dog on the restricted-breed list, but the incidents also involved some not on the register, like Labradors and Jack Russells.
