The first six months of 2024 have seen over 800 homes sold on the market in the Shannonside region.
New figures from the CSO have revealed the number of homes, the types of buyer and the average cost of homes bought and sold locally.
The data shows 806 property's were sold in Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford between January and June of this year.
Of these sales, 148 homes were purchased by a first time buyer or buyers in the region.
Roscommon saw by far the most transactions in the 6 months to June, with 408 homes bought.
Of these, 79 were purchased by first time buyers.
Leitrim comes next at less than half that number, with 215 homes sold in six months, 26 of those to new buyers.
Longford has one of the lowest levels of property transactions in the country, with 43 first time buyers successfully getting on the property ladder.
That was part of the 183 properties sold in the county so far this year.
