Forestation levels in Leitrim and Roscommon saw major changes last year.
New figures from the CSO show the level of Afforestation, the type of forestry and the land which its located on.
285 hectares of land in the Shannonside Region was covered in forestry last year according to the Central Statistics Office.
That's a difference of 112 hectares when compared to 2022, with the main differences in Roscommon and Leitrim.
119 hectares of land in Roscommon was covered in 2023 compared to 176 in 2022, a difference of 57 hectares.
That's followed by Leitrim, where 50 hectares were felled over the course of 12 months.
Longford saw a minor change in Afforestation levels between 2022 and 2023, with a drop of 5 hectares.
Nationally, 1,651 hectares of land in Ireland were covered in forestry last year
