Over one million euro was earned through parking and clamping charges at hospitals serving the Shannonside region last year.
Information released through Freedom of Information reveal the highest amount locally was at Galway University Hospital.
According to figures for 2021, a total of over €650,000 (€657,290) in parking and clamping charges was amassed last year at the Galway facility.

The Midlands regional hospital in Mullingar charged patients and their families a total of €161,194 in parking charges and €209,000 (€209,156) in charges were totalled at its sister hospital in Tullamore.
No charges were recorded at Sligo University Hospital.
A total of five million euro was earned by hospitals in the country last year through parking and clamping charges.
