Over €1.8 million has been announced for projects in the Shannonside region under the Community Recognition Fund. Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys announced today that €16.5 million worth of funding is to be delivered to 185 community projects across the country. Leitrim saw the highest amount of funding in the region with close to €1.1m announced today for projects.
Organisations that are set to benefit from the announcement in Leitrim are the Ballinamore Area Community Council, Carrick-on-Shannon Tennis Club, Carrigallen GAA and Healthy Club and Allen Gaels GAA Club in Drumshanbo. Meanwhile, substantial funding worth almost €800,000 has been announced for projects in Co. Roscommon. Ballaghadereen Family Resource Centre, Boyle FRC Counselling and Phychotherapy Centre and Roscommon Home Services Cooperative Society are all set to benefit from the funding. Finally, in Longford, €61,000 worth of funding has been announced for resurfacing the car park at Clonguish GAA.
