Over €260,000 worth of drugs seized in Athlone

Revenue officers examining parcels in Athlone have seized almost 3kg of ketamine and over 4.6kg of herbal cannabis. The estimated value of the seizure is €266,000 and investigations are continuing.

The drugs were discovered in parcels originating from the Netherlands and Spain and were being sent to areas in Dublin and Kildare. This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
