Over €400,000 has been earmarked for community climate action projects across Co. Roscommon. It comes as details of the new Community Climate Action Fund were announced by the Minister for the Environment, Eamon Ryan, recently.
From a total fund of €24 million, Roscommon County Council was allocated €402,000 to be invested in local ecological proposals under the themes of travel, food and waste, energy, shopping and environmental action. An additional €3 million is available to facilitate cross-border eco-friendly projects between Roscommon and Northern Ireland. The scheme aids Ireland's vision of cutting carbon emissions down by 50% by 2030.
