Over €450,000 in funding announced for local built heritage projects

Roscommon has received the highest amount of funding in the region with over €200,000.

Over €450,000 worth of funding has been announced for built heritage projects across the Shannonside region.

The Minister of State with responsibility for Nature, Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan announced that a total of 676 heritage projects nationally will benefit from €9 million in financial support. Roscommon has received the highest amount of funding in the region with over €200,000. €50,000 has been allocated for Clonalis House and €35,000 for Castlerea House in East Gate Lodge. Meanwhile, county Longford received over €130,000 in the latest funding announcement. Developments at Oldtown House in Ardagh and Creevaghmore House have received €20,000 and €15,000 respectively. Finally, Leitrim received over €120,000 worth of funding for heritage projects in the county.

€15,000 has been allocated to projects at The Old Town Hall in Carrick-On-Shannon, Druminshin Glebe House in Carrigallen and for St. John's Church of Ireland in Drumshanbo.
