Over 6 million euro has been allocated to a Longford Secondary school for a major refurbishment project.
St. Mel's College in the town has been awarded 6.3 million euro through the Department of Education as part of the additional accommodation scheme.
The money has been ring-fenced for the refurbishment of the historic 1865 original college building.
The project would see the construction of 2 Special Needs Classes, 2 General Classrooms, A Home Economics room, A Multi-media/computer room, Science Lab, Music room and a Design/Communications Graphic room.
School principal Declan Rowley says the allocation is a major investment for student's futures.
