Over €700,000 has been earmarked for the redevelopment of the former post office in Longford Town. Longford County Council has secured a total of €793,000 under the EU Just Transition Fund to renovate the historic building on Lower Main Street.
The local authority will be using the money to convert the former post office into a dedicated tourist centre, shared working space, and public display area. Local senator Joe Flaherty has been welcoming the news:
