There are 1,071 new cases of Covid 19 today.
101 patients are in hospital, with 20 of those in ICU. Dr Tony Holohan says our 14-day incidence rate is now the highest it’s been since February 24th at 231 per 100-thousand.
The Chief Medical Officer says the five-day average is 1,159 cases per day, the highest it’s been since February 2nd.
Elsewhere, the Beacon Hospital's decision to vaccinate 20 teachers from a private school was made in 'good faith' - but was 'incorrect'.
That's according to an independent review of the Covid-19 vaccination clinic at the Dublin Hospital.
The Beacon gave jabs to the teachers from St Gerard's in Bray in March, because vaccines were set to go to waste.
The hospital has apologised today, but says it has 'full confidence' in its chief executive, Michael Cullen.
